Visitor information

The Baha'i House of Worship is dedicated to the worship of God. It is open to the public every day of the year. There is no admission fee.

Brief devotional programs are held each day at 9:15 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. in the auditorium, which is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Visitors Center will be closed for approximately one year, from May 19, 2008 to May 2009.

Guided tours

The auditorium (prayer hall), is open every day for prayers and meditation and guides are frequently available to offer tours of the temple. To schedule a free guided tour for groups of 10 or more, please contact the tour coordinator at (847) 853-2325.

Weddings

Those interested in having a simple Baha'i wedding according to Baha'i law at the House of Worship may contact the wedding liaison at 847-853-2301. Baha'i membership is not required.

Driving from the north
Take Int. Hwy. 94 East (south) to the Skokie Road exit. Turn left (east) onto Lake Street and go two miles to Sheridan Road. Turn right (south) onto Linden Avenue. The parking lot entrance is just west of the House of Worship.

Driving from the south
Via Lake Shore Drive: Take Lake Shore Drive north to Sheridan Road. Stay on Sheridan as it twists and turns through Chicago and Evanston. Turn left (west) onto Linden Avenue. The parking lot entrance is just west of the House of Worship.

Via Int. Hwy. 94 West (north): Take I-94 to the Lake Street exit. Drive east on Lake Street about two miles to Sheridan Road. Turn right (south) onto Linden Avenue. The parking lot entrance is just west of the House of Worship.

Taking Public Transportation
The Regional Transit Authority's Trip Planner can assist you in planning your visit to the Baha'i Temple using public trains and buses. (The "Baha'i Temple" is listed as an "attraction/landmark" in the Trip Planner.)

The last stop on the Chicago Transit Authority's Purple Line train is the Linden Avenue station in Wilmette. After exiting the station turn right (east) on Linden Avenue and walk three blocks to the temple.
